The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, arrived in the Chinese capital city of Beijing on Sunday, where she was warmly welcomed by the host country’s government officials.
According to a report by Pak Observer, Maryam Nawaz was greeted by officials of the ruling Communist Party of China. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Beijing, Khalil Hashmi, along with his wife, was also present at the airport on the occasion.
Following her arrival, Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with a high-level delegation of the Chinese ruling party. During the meeting, the delegation assured her that China would help Punjab achieve new economic milestones.
Speaking at the meeting, Maryam Nawaz stated that the China-Pakistan friendship was reaching new heights. She expressed gratitude to the Chinese government on behalf of the people of Punjab.
The Deputy Director General of the Communist Party of China, Lin Tao, along with Consular South Asian Affairs Mrs. Li Zhenyao, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Southeast Asia Chen Zhenbo, South Asian Affairs Attaché Seng Guoyu, Miss Chen Yubo, and Miss Zhou Chenyu, gave Maryam Nawaz a warm reception.
During her visit to China, Senator Pervez Rashid, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Zahid Bokhari, Provincial Minister Bilal Akbar, and Ashiq Kirmani are accompanying Maryam.
Earlier on Sunday, Maryam departed for China, becoming the first Pakistani woman chief minister to visit the country. Her visit is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen ties with its neighbor.
