Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Vice President and Chief Organizer, Maryam Nawaz, has been caught red-handed spreading fake news to drum up support for her father Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia.
Maryam retweeted a picture posted by an account named ‘Harmain Sharifain,’ which claimed that Nawaz Sharif was performing Umrah in Masjid Al Haram. However, the account was later found to be fake, with no connection to the mosques.

Further investigation revealed that the account was run by a Pakistani national named Muhammad Jibran.
In addition to ‘Harmain Sharifain,’ Jibran was also found to be operating another fake account under the name ‘@theholymosques.’ Interestingly, the account only followed 50 pages, with one of them being ‘Inside the Haramain,’ which was the new name of ‘Harmain Sharifain.’
The site’s twitter account was later suspended for impersonation.
