SRINAGAR: Complete shutdown will be observed in occupied Kashmir Tuesday, to mark the 36th martyrdom anniversary of top Kashmiri liberation leader Muhammad Maqbool Butt.
On 11th February 1984, India had hanged Muhammad Maqbool Butt in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
According to details, Call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and other leaders.
Normal life continues to linger affected in the occupied Kashmir due to the Indian military atrocities.
Indian officials imposed tight restrictions in the territory in the name of security to avoid anti-India protests in link with the martyrdom anniversary of Maqbool Butt.
Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that the fight and sacrifices of martyred Muhammad Maqbool Butt is beaconing light for every browbeaten and occupied nation. Protest programs are being held in occupied Kashmir to remember Maqbool Butt’s martyrdom day.
