In recent days, several countries have urged their nationals to leave Iran, including the US, Canada, and Australia, amid fears of escalating violence.

India’s embassy in Tehran is calling on its nationals to leave Iran, citing what it called an “evolving situation” in the Islamic Republic.

It also advised Indian citizens to remain highly vigilant and avoid areas where protests are taking place in a statement posted on X.

Iran has “many surprises” in store for any enemy that attacks it, Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh says.

The brigadier general made the comments after Trump ramped up his rhetoric and threatened to intervene militarily in Iran after weeks of deadly unrest.

“If these threats are turned into action, we will defend the country with full force and until the last drop of blood, and our defence would be painful to them,” Nasirzadeh said at a security meeting, according to Press TV.

He also warned countries that provide assistance for any strike on Iran that they “will be legitimate targets.”

Damage caused by Israel’s 12-day war on Iran in June has been repaired, and “the military production capacity increased,” Nasirzadeh said.

Direct contact between senior officials from the United States and Iran has broken down as tensions soar over possible military strikes.

Communication lines between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US special envoy Steve Witkoff have been suspended, an unnamed senior official told Reuters news agency.

The news report comes amid President Donald Trump’s intensifying threats to intervene militarily as Iran clamps down after two weeks of deadly demonstrations.

Some personnel have been advised to leave the US military’s Al Udeid airbase in Qatar by Wednesday evening, three unnamed diplomats tell the international news agency Reuters.

The news report comes amid increasing warnings from the United States that it could intervene militarily to protect protesters in Iran.

Al Udeid is the Middle East’s largest US base, housing about 10,000 American troops.
