ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has announced that the Manshehra-Thakot Expressway had been formally opened for traffic.
On a social media website Twitter, he said “The 80 KMs two-way Mansehra-Thakot Expressway has been opened for traffic.” Highway police and toll staff had also been deployed at the road, he added.
Asim Bajwa, who is also Chairman of the CPEC Authority, said, “It is an extension of 40 KM Havelian-Mansehra four-lane motorway.” An amount of Rs 136 billion was spent on the project.

Earlier, Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway project would bring a socio-economic revolution for interior Sindh.
In a tweet, Asim Bajwa said that the 306 kilometers Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) had been approved in the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) which will be executed on Build Operate Transfer (BOT) basis.
He said after completion of this project, the CPEC Eastern route (Peshawar-Karachi) will also be completed. He added that the project would also connect east Balochistan to the motorway network.
