In a horrific incident, a man abducted and killed a 5-year-old boy in order to marry the child’s mother in Sargodha, local media reported on Wednesday.
As per police, the accused demanded a divorce from the woman’s husband in exchange for the child’s safe return, harassing him with anonymous communications after the murder. The child’s murder was investigated for nine months before the authorities apprehended the suspect. In September of last year, Shahzeb, the 5-year-old son of Rehman Ali, a laborer in Chak 107, was abducted.
The police investigation revealed that the victim’s mother had an affair with a young man named Mukarram from a rural area and had repeatedly left her husband and children to be with him.
The woman wanted to marry Mukarram, but his parents did not agree to Shahzeb living with them.
Mukarram saw Shahzeb as an obstacle to the marriage and kidnapped the boy. After strangling him, he disposed of the body in a canal. Shahzeb’s mother was completely unaware of her son’s murder. After nine months, the police announced their success in solving the abduction and murder case.
