Major breakdown of power at Dhabeji pumping station

KARACHI: The water supply has been affected due to a major K-Electric breakdown at Dhabeji Pumping Station. Spokesman Waterboard said that there was a power breakdown at the station at 5 am today by K-Electric.

Power to the pumping station was restored at 6:30 p.m. Water pumping was completely stopped due to the sudden cut-off of electricity supply from all the feeders.

According to Water Board officials, 3 lines of 72-inch diameter have been affected due to major power breakdown while 125 mg of water has been short-fall.

Water Board officials said that the restoration of water lines has been started on an emergency basis, while water supply has been started through alternative pumps across the city. MD Waterboard has directed that the affected water lines be repaired immediately.
