Special Olympics Pakistan hosted a vibrant marathon on Aiwan-e-Sadr Road in Karachi on Sunday, with over 4,000 participants, including children, youth, women, and special athletes. The event kicked off early at 6:30 AM and featured three race categories: 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 5 kilometers.
Mahnur Fatima emerged as the winner of the 10-kilometre race, showcasing exceptional determination and skill. Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori, who attended the event, praised the participation of special children and commended their mothers for their unwavering support. He expressed his gratitude, noting, “The prayers of these children have saved the country from its enemies.”
The Consul Generals of Iran, Qatar, and the UAE were also present at the marathon. Governor Tesori further highlighted the Governor House’s initiative to offer IT courses to children, providing them with opportunities to earn dollars monthly. He emphasized national unity, stating, “This is a message to foreign powers aiming to weaken Pakistan; we all stand together as one.”
The governor also reaffirmed his commitment to Karachi’s development and the global promotion of Pakistan, urging citizens to work together for the country’s progress.
