ISLAMABAD: A powerful 6.3 earthquake jolted Islamabad and other parts of Pakistan on Sunday as residents ran to the streets for safety.
According to information available with MM News, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Tajikistan, depth 150 km, Lat: 38.65 N Long: 69..65 E. The jolts were felt as far as in Azad Kashmir’s Dheer Kot area.
The jolts were felt for at east 15 seconds. People moved out of their houses and buildings reciting Holy verses.
Social media users grabbed the jolts on camera and posted videos on different platforms.

There were no reports of any damage from the earthquake as tremors were felt in other cities of Punjab as well.

Meanwhile, reports from multiple media sources suggest the jolts were also felt in neighboring Afghanistan and Iran.
It may be recalled that on January 19, 2023, tremors were felt in Islamabad and different parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa after a magnitude 5.6 earthquake jolted the region. The earthquake was felt in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Shabqadar, Swat, Kohat, Swabi, Lower Dir, Bannu, Charsadda and other areas.
