LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to produce PTI chairman Imran Khan’s nephew Hassaan Khan Niazi before the court on August 18 (tomorrow).
Justice Sultan Tanveer issued the written order on a petition filed by Hassaan’s father Hafeezullah Niazi for recovery of his son. The petitioner said his son is being held in illegal custody by the police and information is not being provided.
Inspector General Police Punjab and others have been made respondents in the petition. The court said parties should submit a report on the next hearing regarding the recovery of Niazi. “If Niazi is in the custody of any party, he should be produced in the court on August 18,” said the court order.
The name of Hassaan Niazi has been included in the A-Plus category of suspects. A Lahore police team will depart for Quetta to take custody of Hassaan Niazi.
After fulfilling the legal requirements, DIG Investigation Imran Kishwar will also be part of the team to bring him to Lahore. Niazi has been handed over by the Abbottabad police to the Quetta police. The Punjab Home Department has written a letter to transfer Niazi to Lahore.

He was absconding after the process of declaring him a proclaimed offender (PO) was initiated by Lahore police in attack on the Jinnah House.
The Corps Commander’s residence, also known as Jinnah House, was vandalized and torched by a mob of PTI supporters following the arrest of the party chief Imran Khan on May 9.
