LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday granted protective bail to the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan till April 26 in a sedition case registered in Islamabad.
Khan had filed a petition in the LHC earlier today seeking protective bail in a case registered against him in Islamabad’s Ramna Police Station on April 7, following a complaint from a magistrate who alleged that Mr. Khan had used “inappropriate” language against officers of a sensitive institution.
In his petition filed today, the PTI Chairman made complainant Maznoor Ahmed respondent and claimed that the FIR was politically motivated and was lodged in violation of the laws. He has pleaded with the high court to grant him protective bail so he could approach the relevant court in this regard.
