In December, Blake Lively accused her “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment, leading both actors to file lawsuits against each other in New York. However, a leaked video released by Baldoni’s legal team on Tuesday has added a new twist to the ongoing legal feud between the two.
Actor and director Justin Baldoni’s legal team shared behind-the-scenes footage from a romantic scene in the film It Ends With Us, which they claim serves as evidence disproving Blake Lively’s allegations.
The video, which includes three takes of a bar scene, begins with a caption asserting that the footage “clearly refutes” Lively’s claims of inappropriate behavior and depicts both actors acting “well within the scope of the scene with mutual respect and professionalism.”
In response, Lively’s legal team released a statement, arguing that “every frame of the released footage corroborates” the actress’s claims. They dismissed the video as a “manufactured media stunt” and accused Baldoni’s team of unethical conduct in an attempt to manipulate public opinion. Lively, who is represented by Manatt, Phelps & Phillips and Willkie Farr & Gallagher, further alleged that the release of the footage was a calculated move to undermine her case.
Earlier this month, Lively filed a federal lawsuit in New York accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and alleging that he and his associates orchestrated a smear campaign against her. In response, Baldoni filed his own complaint last week against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, seeking at least $400 million in damages for allegedly leading a smear campaign against him.
