The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a rise in temperatures over the next seven days, which could pose challenges for those observing Ramadan. PMD spokesperson Anjum Nazir shared that Karachi will experience clear, sunny skies in the coming days.
The Met Office has issued a warning for persistently hot weather throughout the week, with temperatures predicted to range between 36°C and 38°C.
A shift in weather patterns, however, is expected after March 12, according to the department’s forecast. Currently, Karachi’s weather is described as “partly cloudy and dry,” with a temperature of 16°C, northeast winds blowing at 7 km/h, and 60% humidity. The PMD also noted a potential 2°C to 3°C increase in temperature on Thursday. On Wednesday, the city saw a slight chill due to dry northeastern winds that began Tuesday night.
In contrast, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to experience cold and dry conditions in most areas, with harsher weather anticipated in the northern regions. Southern districts are likely to see strong daytime winds. Meanwhile, Peshawar has recorded a low of 9°C, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 25°C.
This week’s diverse weather patterns highlight significant regional variations across the country, creating unique challenges for residents as Ramadan continues.
