LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court has granted interim bail to lawyer Hassaan Niazi, nephew of Prime Minister Imran Khan for 4-days in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) attack case.
The ATC, earlier today, turned down the interim bail of Hassaan Niazi for arriving late in the court.
During the hearing, he had warned by the court for arriving late and canceled his interim bail by remarking ‘Law is equal for everyone’.
On the other hand, Niazi offered an unconditional apology, and would likely file another plea seeking bail in the case to avoid his arrest by the police.
Niazi was granted interim bail by the ATC on 20th December 2019 in the PIC attack case and was ordered to submit a surety bond of Rs100,000.
Niazi was booked in the PIC attack that occurred in December 2019. The police conducted raids at his residence twice but no one was found.

A violent clash erupted between hundreds of lawyers and doctors on 14th December that left 4 patients dead and 25 injured in the PIC hospital of Lahore. At least 52 lawyers were arrested after the attack.
Niazi in his claim stated that his support was limited to the initiation of legal action against the doctors but videos that went viral on social media showed him actively participating in the protest.
