In order to promote environment-friendly transportation in Lahore, 241 electric vehicle charging stations will be built in the provincial capital this year, a Private TV channel reported on Monday.
As per the report, the Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has already initiated the process of EV charging stations at 241 locations across the city.
The company has begun identifying suitable points in Lahore’s major parking areas for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs.
A proposal has been formally submitted to the senior member of the Board of Revenue, suggesting the setup of charging stations at 241 major parking points across the city.
LTC has also requested the provision of land from the Board of Revenue to establish these electric charging hubs (HUBs) in Lahore.
The plan aims to cater to both small-scale and large-scale EV users, and a comprehensive survey is currently underway to ensure proper placement and accessibility.
LTC is a public transit bus system established for the carrying of urban passengers in Lahore. It operates a bus rapid transit system in the city. LTC was established under the Companies Ordinance of 1984, with the intention of merging several transport companies operating in Lahore together under one company.
