KARACHI: Several employees of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), accused of missing revenue target of Rs1 billion, have been transferred without any inquiry, according to sources.
According to relevant documents obtained by M.M News, Syed Tabish Raza Hasnain was given the charge of Superintendent of Meter Consumer Cell (MCC). Later, the department’s recovery was generated less than 1 billion – almost 800 million.
Syed Tabish, on May 20, illegally posted seven more officers and employees under alleged political patronage, raising fears among the employees of the Revenue Resource and Generation (RRG) that department’s recovery will further be reduced.
According to the notification, Sub Engineer Nakshab Siddiqui, Sub Engineer Arsalan Kibriya, Arm Guard Rooshan Aeliya, Line Guard Fazlur Rehman, Assistant Executive Engineer Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Supervisor Umair Jamil and Beldar Syed Aleemuddin were posted in Meter Division at the request of Tabish Raza Hasnain.
Later, when KWSB’s recovery starting missing target of Rs1 billion, Syed Tabish Raza along with his team, was transferred to other department. However, no inquiry was launched against them.
According to the new notification, Executive Engineer Tabish Raza has been removed from the post of Superintendent Engineer (MMC) and a temporary charge of Superintendent Engineer (East A) has been given to fill the vacancy.
Meanwhile, Reputable Officer Tariq Latif, currently working in KWSSIP, has been transferred to KWSB as Superintendent Engineer Meter Consumer Cell (MCC). Irfanullah Khan, currently working in Karachi Division Civil Two (KDC-II), has been transferred as an Executive Engineer in MCC.
It should be noted that due to the declining recovery of the department, the contractors had protested several times. Even current and retired employees have also posted due to the delay of salaries and pensions.
