Kurram Assistant Commissioner Saeed Mannan was shot and injured in fresh firing in Upper Kurram on Friday, despite a peace deal aimed at restoring stability in the conflict-hit region.
According to local media reports, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Saeed Mannan sustained injuries in the Boshehra area of Upper Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A hospital official confirmed the incident, with the Medical Superintendent (MS) of Parachinar District Headquarters Hospital stating that AC Mannan was brought in for treatment following the gun attack.
The shooting has heightened concerns over the fragile security situation and its potential impact on ongoing efforts to stabilize the region.
Earlier in January, Kurram District Deputy Commissioner Javed Allah Mehsud was also ambushed in the Baggan area when unidentified assailants opened fire on a government convoy.

According to district administration officials, the attack left five others injured, including a Frontier Constabulary personnel, a policeman, and three civilians passing by.
The deputy commissioner, who played a key role in peace restoration efforts in the restive region, along with the other injured individuals, was rushed to the hospital immediately after the attack.
