Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has faced dire consequences over his viral bottle video as The British Asian Trust, has decided to end its association with the singer.
The Trust, an organisation focused on combating violence and founded by King Charles III, cut ties with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan following the circulation of a video showing thim assaulting a band member.
Lauded for its uncompromising position against abusive conduct, the Trust swiftly condemned any acts of violence after examining the troubling footage. A representative from the British Asian Trust shed light on the decision to terminate its affiliation with the singer, following a thorough examination of the video footage.
In this regards, the spokesperson for the Trust stated, “The British Asian Trust has a strict policy towards abusive behaviour and has ceased any association with Mr Khan. We strongly condemn any form of violence whatever the circumstances.”
The incident occurred in Houston, Texas, last year, however, it became viral this weekend out of the blue. In the video, Khan can be seen physically assaulting a band member, employing slaps, kicks, and even his shoes. The singer soon responded addressed the controversy and issued a clarification, asserting that the reality of the situation differed from what was apparent in the video. He explained that the matter involved an internal dispute with a student, identified as Naveed Husnain and the “bottle” mentioned in the video contained water given by a spiritual leader, which he had misplaced.
