LAHORE: Kieron Pollard has been ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) and will unable to join Peshawar Zalmi this season.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Pollard will not be available for Peshawar Zalmi. Meanwhile, Carlos Brathwaite will stay with the franchise for the entire season now.
Brathwaite had been named as Pollard’s temporary replacement and has already played two matches this season.
Pollard was scheduled to join PSL 5 after the conclusion of the West Indies tour of Sri Lanka on March 7 but has suffered a niggle in this right thigh.
“With a heavy heart, I wish my teammates at Peshawar Zalmi all the best for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League 2020.
“I’m sorry I can’t be there in person this year but the team has some inspirational characters leading the charge and I’m sure can give Daren [Sammy] his first trophy as a head coach,” the batsman said.
Kieron Pollard, the most experienced player in T20 cricket. The West Indies captain recently reached 10,000 runs in his 500th game in the shortest format.
Pollard has participated in three consecutive seasons from 20017-19. Pollard has featured in 13 matches for Peshawar, scoring 284 runs and taking five wickets.
