ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s interim government has announced a public holiday on February 5, 2024 on account of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
A notification issued by Interior Division on Friday said 1-minute silence would be observed on Feb 5 at 10 am to pay homage to martyrs of Kashmir.
Kashmir Day, also known as Kashmir Solidarity Day, expressed solidarity with the people of the Himalayan region who are living under Indian authoritarian rule.
Conferences, demonstrations and events related to the day are being planned in cities across the country, which will shed light on the atrocities committed by Indian troops to sabotage the Kashmiri struggle for freedom over the past seven decades.
Kashmir issue remains a flash point between Pakistan and India with Islamabad constantly urging the world to hold a plebiscite on Kashmir.
