KARACHI: The Sindh health department on Sunday reported 246 new dengue infections in Karachi in the last 24 hours.
The majority number of cases in Karachi have been reported in district East, where 66 patients have been infected by the virus during the past 24 hours.
33 cases were reported in District Korangi, 55 in central, 28 in Malir, 36 in South, 13 in Keamari, and 10 in District West.
The vector-borne virus in the megacity has claimed the lives of 36 people so far, according to a report from the provincial health department.
Karachi has been witnessing one of the worst dengue outbreaks in its history this year following unprecedented rains during the monsoon season.
