KARACHI: Another case of monkeypox (mpox) has been reported in Karachi, raising the city’s total infections to 9 during the current outbreak.

A 39‑year‑old man from Pathan Colony is reported to have been tested positive at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Centre (SIDH&RC), NIPA, and is receiving full treatment and isolation under medical supervision.

Hospital authorities confirmed that all necessary medical facilities are being provided to the patient and that he is being closely monitored. The case is being treated as part of local transmission, underscoring that the virus is now spreading within the community rather than only through international travel‑linked infections.
