A Karachi citizen attempted self-immolation outside the Governor’s House on Sunday in a desperate protest against the escalating street crime in the city.
The man, visibly agitated, shouted, “Let me die; there is no peace in the city.” He further explained, “On Saturday, my friend and I were robbed at gunpoint in the Mochko area. I came to the Governor’s House to file a complaint about the incident, but I was not allowed inside.”
Expressing his anguish over the dire situation in Karachi, the citizen stated that he felt compelled to take such an extreme action due to his profound frustration with the city’s deteriorating law and order situation.
This attempted self-immolation outside the Governor’s House highlights the public’s growing frustration with the provincial government’s failure to curb the rampant street violence in Karachi.
