KARACHI: A shocking increase in stray dog attacks has been reported in the city, with more than 150 cases of dog bites being registered daily in government hospitals, according to official hospital sources.
The alarming situation has raised serious public safety concerns as incidents involving stray dogs attacking citizens, including children, continue to rise across Karachi.
According to data from government hospitals, over 150 dog bite cases are being reported every day in different medical facilities across the city. Officials say the number reflects a sharp and worrying increase in stray dog activity.
In a recent incident in Korangi Industrial Area, a young girl was attacked by a pack of stray dogs while playing outside her home. The dogs severely injured her face before she was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Hospital administration sources said the highest number of dog bite cases are being reported from Korangi, Landhi, and Hub Chowki areas.
Medical records further show that at least 10 people have died this year due to stray dog attacks, while more than 40,000 people have been injured and required hospital treatment.
Authorities have expressed concern over the worsening situation, as residents continue to demand urgent action to control the growing stray dog population in the city.
