The Directorate of Colleges Education in Karachi has announced that colleges in the city are no longer permitted to collect fees in cash. This decision aims to streamline the payment process, enhance security, and ensure greater transparency while minimizing the risks associated with handling cash in educational institutions.
A notification issued by Regional Director Faqir Muhammad Lakho strictly prohibits the collection of any type of cash fee at student dealing counters. College principals have been instructed to ensure that all student fees are deposited directly into the college’s designated bank account.

The notification also emphasizes that college principals will be held fully accountable for any violations of this directive. Any incident related to the collection of cash fees will be their sole responsibility.
This decision follows a recent case of financial misappropriation, where staff members at Government College for Women Nazimabad and Jinnah College Nazimabad mishandled associate degree examination fees for 250 students. As a result, the affected students did not receive their admit cards on time.
