KARACHI: Startling revelations have been made during an investigation into a plot to steal more than Rs200 million from a cash van on August 9 on Karachi’s Wall Street.
As per details, Zulfiqar got the van driver hired in a security company and chased the cash van for several days. According to Hussain Shah, the accused put money from the bank car in the hi roof and took
it to Pahlawan Goth and distributed it.
Mastermind
The mastermind of the incident was a man named accused Zulfiqar, who is hiding with a share of Rs. 43 million. The accused’s hi roof van had been chasing the cash van for several days to steal the money.
Robbery and distribution
On the day of the incident, accused Hussain Shah saw a huge amount of money and gave a signal to his colleagues. 7 big bags full of money were picked up and shifted to Pahlawan Goth. Hi roof van was taken to the house of accused Zulfiqar’s cousin and the money was distributed.
Accused Hanifullah got Rs 35 million. Salman and Amin got Rs 2.5 crore. Accused Abid got Rs 80 lakh from the stolen money. The van driver Hussain Shah got share of Rs 58 million.
Recovered money
Police recovered a total of Rs37.859 million from 10 accused. 81 lakh 71 thousand and one set of gold jewelery were recovered from accused Gul Majeed.
Police recovered Rs 1.32 lakh from accused Syed Noorullah. 11,19,29,200 were recovered from accused Saifullah. Rs19 million were recovered from accused Niaz Badshah. Rs 4 million was recovered from accused Salman. Rs. 15.55 million were recovered from accused Gul Hassan. Millions of rupees were also recovered from other accused.
Police were able to recover only Rs 37.8 million, which was looted in the incident. The remaining amount of more than Rs 16 crore is yet to be ascertained
