Actress turned politician won by a margin of 74,755 votes. In her acting career, Ranaut is counted among Bollywood’s biggest stars.

In 2021, Ranaut said, “The freedom we got in 1947 was a ‘bheek’ (pity), the citizens of India got real freedom in 2014.”
Called Urmila Matondkar to a soft porn star
In 2020, Ranaut called actress-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar ‘a soft porn star’ during a TV interview.
The actress said that if Urmila Matondkar, who she claimed was only known for her ‘soft porn films’ could get an election ticket, then why couldn’t she.
Alleged affair with Hrithik Roshan
The spat between Ranaut and Roshan arose from a dispute over their alleged past romantic involvement.
