Kamran Akmal leads Zalmi to win against Quetta Gladiators

KARACHI: Wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal struck a century to led Peshawar Zalmi to a six-wicket win against Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium.
Kamran smashed the first century of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five and his third of his PSL career. The knock included 13 fours and four massive sixes.
Kamran departed for 55-ball 101 after scoring a century. Haider Ali was the other Zalmi batsman who reached the double-figure score. He made 25 off 28 balls included two fours and a six.
Fawad Ahmed claimed two wickets of Kamran and Shoaib Malik (7) but gave 40 runs in 3.3 overs. Malik failed to impress while Tom Banton scored three.
Liam Livingstone finished the match by hitting a six over long-on with nine balls to spare. Tymal Mills and Sohail Khan picked a wicket each.
Zalmi captain Darren Sammy won the toss and decided to bowl first. Jason Roy’s 57-ball 73 guided Quetta Gladiators to 148 in 20 overs. Roy’s inning included six fours and a massive six. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed played a brisk knock of 41 in just 25 balls.

Wahab Riaz was the pick of the bowlers as he picked two wickets for 21. Rahat Ali, Debutant Mohammad Amir, and Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy picked one wicket each.
Quetta lost Shane Watson and Ahmed Shehzad early in the powerplay. Ahmed only managed to score 12 as Amir claimed his first wicket. Kamran was awarded as the player of the match.
