Following a triumphant theatrical release and a global box office collection exceeding Rs 1000 crore, Kalki 2898 AD is set to make its OTT debut. Both Netflix and Prime Video have announced plans to stream the film in various languages.
The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD will be available on Netflix starting August 20. Meanwhile, the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from August 22.
Netflix shared the news on social media, saying, “Iss yug ka EPIC blockbuster aa raha hai Netflix par, Hindi mein Watch #Kalki2898AD Hindi arriving on August 20 on Netflix.”
Amazon Prime Video also took to Instagram, posting, “The dawn of a new ERA awaits you and this is your gateway into the GRAND world of Kalki #Kalki2898ADOnPrime, August 22.”
Director Nag Ashwin expressed his enthusiasm about the OTT release, stating, “Bringing Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) to Netflix allows us to share this story with a global audience. It’s a film that delves deep into the themes of hope, destiny, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. We’re excited for viewers to experience this epic journey.”
Actor Prabhas also commented, “Kalki 2898 AD is a film that pushes the boundaries of storytelling, and I’m thrilled for audiences around the world to experience its unique vision on Netflix.”
Released in theaters on June 27, Kalki 2898 AD earned over Rs 770 crore in the domestic market alone, with its total worldwide gross surpassing Rs 1050 crore.
