K-Electric (KE) has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown in several parts of Karachi on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with electricity supply set to remain suspended for several hours in areas connected to more than 30 feeders.
The planned outages are part of the utility’s routine maintenance programme aimed at improving the reliability, safety, and performance of the city’s power distribution network.
According to the maintenance schedule released by KE, work will begin as early as 7:01am in some areas and continue until 9:59pm in others, depending on the feeder and the nature of the maintenance activity.
Consumers residing in the affected localities have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance, as power supply will remain unavailable during the scheduled shutdown period.
The maintenance campaign will impact a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional consumers across Karachi. Among the feeders included in the shutdown schedule are 30th Street Rahat RMU, Adil Murad, Al-Azmat, Al-Ghafoor Atrium Tower, Al-Ghori, Ausaf Industries, Ayubbia Commercial Phase-7 Extension, Crown Garden, Dow University, H.M Extraction, Jan Finishing, Javed Metal, Jehlum Textile, KDA Palace View, King Residency, Kiran Arcade (Pole-19), Machi Miani, Madras Society, Model Colony ‘A’, Muslim Gym Khana, National Spinning, Ojha Sanitorium, Phoenix Height, Pole #56 RMU, QEC, Rainbow Dyeing, Relax Apartment, Sector-D S/S-3, Security Printing-I, Shamsi Cloth, Sindhi Jamaat (Ex Abbott Lab), and Tanga Stand RMU.
Most feeders are scheduled to remain without electricity between 9:00am and 6:00pm, while a number of industrial feeders, including Ausaf Industries and H.M Extraction, are expected to experience longer outages extending until 9:59pm.
Similarly, some feeders such as Machi Miani and Sector-D S/S-3 will begin experiencing interruptions early in the morning, whereas Shamsi Cloth is scheduled for a shorter maintenance window during the afternoon.
KE stated that the maintenance work is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the electricity network by carrying out inspections, replacing ageing equipment, and upgrading infrastructure where required.
Such planned shutdowns are intended to reduce the likelihood of unplanned power interruptions and improve the overall stability of electricity supply across the city.
