Consumers of K-Electric and HESCO have been granted exemption from peak-hour loadshedding, the Power Division Pakistan has confirmed.
According to a spokesperson, no additional load shedding will be carried out during peak hours for these two distribution companies.
The clarification comes as part of the government’s peak-hours relief strategy.
The statement noted that sufficient low-cost electricity generation is available in southern parts of the country, reducing the need for outages during peak times. Unlike other regions, power in the south is generated through sources other than expensive furnace oil, ensuring adequate supply.
Officials added that this electricity is primarily supplied to K-Electric and HESCO, and consumers under these networks will not be subjected to unnecessary inconvenience.
As a result, they have been exempted from the previously announced two hours and 15 minutes of peak-hour load shedding.
