K-Electric has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown across several areas of Karachi on August 13, 2026, as part of its ongoing maintenance and improvement work on the city’s electricity distribution network.
According to the shutdown schedule, power supply to a number of residential, commercial and institutional areas will remain suspended for several hours at different times during the day.
The maintenance shutdown will affect dozens of feeders across the city, with most interruptions scheduled to begin between 8:00am and 10:00am and continue until approximately 5:59pm or 6:00pm. However, the duration of the outage will vary depending on the feeder.
According to the schedule, the Achanak Hotel, Akhtar Colony, Alig Old Boys CHS, Defence-15, Iran Centre, Jinnah University, Khalid Commercial S/S-16, KH-E-Jami RMU, Merchant Construction and several other feeders will experience power interruptions from around 8:59am until 5:59pm.
The Ali Square and Gulbahar feeders have been scheduled for shutdown from 9:00am to 6:30pm, making them among the feeders with the longest planned maintenance interruptions. Meanwhile, the Dost Mohammad feeder will remain shut from 9:59am to 4:59pm.
Other feeders listed in the schedule include Drigh Road A, Globe Center, Gulshan-e-Jami RMU, KDA Employee Society, KE Workshop (PECHS-A), Karachi Memon Society, KMC Boosting and Mes-105. Most of these feeders have shutdown timings ranging from approximately 8:59am or 9:00am until 6:00pm.
On the other side of the schedule, power interruptions have also been announced for the Muhammad Ali Park, Najshaz Motors, Naz Ice, North Vista, Petal Residency, Police Training Center (PTC), Pulia Wali, Punjab Town, Razi Tower RMU, Rupali RMU, S.D. Houses, Sallu Garden, Shanti Nagar, Sind Baloch Society, State Bank, Tasveer Mahel, U.K. Square and Zulfiqar Commercial-01 feeders.
The KE Workshop (PECHS-A) feeder has been scheduled for maintenance from 8:00am to 6:00pm, while the Sector-D S/S-3 and Naz Ice feeders are scheduled to face interruptions beginning at 9:59am. The Rupali RMU feeder is expected to remain affected from 8:59am until 5:29pm.
The company’s maintenance activity is expected to temporarily disrupt electricity supplies in several parts of Karachi throughout the day. Residents, businesses and other electricity consumers in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance, particularly those relying on electricity for commercial operations, water pumping and other essential activities.
