ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice, Athar Minallah has banned the unnecessary entry of people in the court premises during the coronavirus outbreak.
CJP Minhallah issued a notification in which he directed unnecessary people and the lawyers not to enter the court premises without any reason.
The notification reads, “Judge, staff, and lawyers scheduled for hearings can appear before the court.” It further states, “The relevant parties can only appear before the court upon being summoned by the court.”
Moreover, at least 89 prisoners have tested positive for COVID-19 in different jails of Punjab today. There are confirmed 59 cases of the virus in Lahore Camp Jail, 14 in Sialkot Jail, seven in Gujranwala, while 9 inmates have tested positive for the virus in DG Khan Jail.
Overall 527 testes had been conducted in Lahore Camp Jail out of which 59 tested positive, while 379 prisoners were declared negative from the virus.
Punjab is currently the region with the highest number of COVID-19 cases i.e. up to 2,826, 1,452 in Sindh, 800 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 231 in Balochistan, 233 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 131 in Islamabad and 43 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan has so far reported 96 deaths from the coronavirus.
