A young girl was allegedly gang-raped in Bahawalpur under the pretext of a job offer. Following the assault, one of the accused reportedly threw acid on her.
In connection with the incident, one of the absconding suspects has been arrested. A case has been filed against the main accused, Haroon, and others at the Baghdad police station, based on a complaint from the victim’s brother.
Medical authorities at MS Victoria Hospital confirmed that the 24-year-old girl’s samples have been sent to a laboratory for testing.
The Bahawalpur police are actively conducting raids to apprehend the suspect Haroon. Further legal action will be initiated once the medical report is available.
Earlier, a shocking gang rape incident left the nation in disbelief, as a newlywed bride became the victim of a traumatic assault in Sahiwal.
The attack occurred just days after the victim’s marriage in Chak No 6, a suburb of Sahiwal. Reports indicate that the victim and her husband visited his friend, Nadeem, who, along with two other men, later took them to a local dera.
In a disturbing twist, the three assailants locked the husband, Iqbal, in a room and returned to the house, where the wife was brutally gang-raped.
The ordeal ended when the victim’s health began to deteriorate, causing the accused to flee and leave the door open. Iqbal promptly went to Kassowal Police Station to file the first information report (FIR) and initiate an investigation.
