GUJRAT: The Amir of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq has demanded to hold general elections at the earliest, and installation of caretaker governments in Center and provinces.
Addressing a rally here on Sunday, taken out to protest against rising inflation in the country, Sirajul Haq said the entire Pakistani nation was worried because of the country’s situation, adding that despite being an agricultural country, there was a shortage of flour, sugar, water and electricity here. “Things have come to such a pass where the voters of all three major political parties namely PML-N, PPP and PTI are greatly disappointed,” he said, adding, “only the ruling elite is prosperous.”
He regretted that whether it was the present government or those preceding it, all governments made Pakistan ‘slave’ of the IMF. “Today everybody, including the president and the prime minister, are seen saying that situation in Pakistan is precarious,” Siraj said.
