Believe it or not, Jennifer Garner has attuned Met Gala only once as the Elektra’s star reveals why she hasn’t gone back since.
The actress revealed that she only went to the Met Gala “exactly once” in 2007 during a recent appearance on Vogue’s Beauty Secrets segment. She said as she applied her makeup, “I haven’t been back because I found it a little scary.”
She did, however, continue to brag over the outfit she wore to the event that year, which had Poiret: King of Fashion as its theme. “I was his date that evening, and I looked amazing in this red Valentino gown. With regard to her participation with fashion designer Valentino Garavani, Garner commented, “That was really majestic and special.”

The Met Gala is the annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. As a result, the price to attend the event can cost as high as $50,000 per person.
The actress is not the only one who has expressed disapproval of the fashion show. At their “first and probably last” Met Gala in 2016, Demi Lovato and Nicki Minaj were captured on camera appearing awkwardly together. Later, Lovato posted the picture to Instagram with the hashtag #notforme.
In 2018, the pop star opened up further about their experience at the gala. “This one celebrity was a complete b**h and was miserable to be around,” Lovato told Billboard. “It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink.”
Another celeb who made the decision to never return was Tina Fey, who visited just once in 2010. During her conversation with David Letterman in 2015, the comic remarked, “I went to the Met Gala once, and it is such a jerk parade.”

“It’s obvious that I won’t go again, but you go and there’s this gorgeous place and all these jerks from all different backgrounds are there wearing the silliest things ever.” You walk up these enormous steps, and I followed you—dragging my spouse with me—and I’m still getting in trouble for it.
Just last month, Vogue announced the theme for the 2024 Met Gala, which will be “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”.
