Jemima Goldsmith, former wife of ex-prime minister Imran Khan, has made a direct humanitarian appeal to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging him to immediately issue visas for her sons, Sulaiman Khan and Qasim Khan, so they can visit their father.

In a statement shared on social media, Jemima said her sons had reapplied for visas in January, but no progress has been made even after 60 days.

She pointed out that, according to the Pakistani consulate, the online visa process usually takes between seven and ten working days, yet in her sons’ case this timeframe has been significantly exceeded.

Jemima also referred to remarks made by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif to international media, in which he said Imran Khan’s sons could travel to Pakistan and safely meet their father.

She added that Sulaiman and Qasim have not seen their father since the assassination attempt on Imran Khan in 2022. According to her statement, the sons are also not being allowed to speak to their father by phone or correspond with him.

Jemima urged the prime minister to allow the meeting immediately, citing reports about Imran Khan’s deteriorating health.

She also expressed surprise that obstacles still remain in the way of a meeting with their father, whom they have not seen for the past four years.

Imran Khan is currently imprisoned at Adiala Jail, where in recent days there has been legal and political debate over his health and the provision of facilities in accordance with prison regulations.
