Government of Japan has announced the 2023 “Spring Conferment of Decorations” for former Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan Imtiaz Ahmad in recognition of his contribution to strengthen bilateral relations and promote friendship between the two countries.
In a statement, Japan Embassy in Islamabad said that the former envoy will be decorated with “the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star.
Imtiaz Ahmad has served as a diplomat in Japan for over 16 years, holding almost every post from young diplomat to Ambassador.
He has gained extensive knowledge of the Japanese language, culture, and history, which has been instrumental in enhancing relations between the two countries in various fields.
In addition to his diplomatic duties, Ambassador Imtiaz Ahmad has also made notable contributions to the Japanese people. After the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, he served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo.
