Following the Jaffer Express attack, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a key visit to Balochistan today to assess the situation. Federal cabinet members will also accompany him during the visit.
According to details, during his one-day visit to Quetta, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will preside over a high-level security meeting and engage in important discussions. The meeting will include a detailed briefing on the security situation in Balochistan, the Jaffer Express attack, and the rescue operation.
Earlier, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, stated that all hostages from the Jaffer Express had been rescued, and all 33 terrorists were eliminated.
In an interview with a TV channel, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif mentioned that on March 11, terrorists targeted the railway track in Bolan, forcing the Jaffer Express to stop. Railway officials reported that 440 passengers were aboard the train at the time.
According to the DG ISPR, no passengers were harmed during the clearance operation. However, prior to the operation, 21 passengers were martyred due to the brutality of the terrorists. Additionally, four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred—three of them were killed by terrorists at a nearby checkpoint before the clearance operation, while one soldier was martyred during the operation.
