At least nine people were killed after a tourist boat capsized in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The accident occurred on 30 April near the Bargi Dam on the Narmada River, where the cruise boat carrying tourists suddenly met with disaster.

Though the picture struck an emotional chord with several netizens, the reality behind the visual appears to be different.
The Jabalpur District Administration has issued a clarification stating that the image is either AI-generated or unrelated to the incident.
In a post on X, the Collector of Jabalpur said, “This photo is AI-generated or from some other source. It has no connection with the Bargi cruise accident.”
At least nine people lost their lives in the incident, turning what was meant to be a pleasant tourist trip into a horrifying tragedy within moments.
During the accident, the boat, carrying around 30 passengers, capsized abruptly, leading to screams and panic all around. Amid the chaos, a scene of a mother’s love and protection for her child emerged, one that breaks hearts.
Authorities said the passengers were on a tourist trip. Following the incident, large-scale search and rescue operations have been underway in the area.
Efforts to locate further missing persons have intensified, as fears rise that the death toll could increase.
