Israel-Palestine conflict is one of the longest-standing conflicts in the world. Several wars and disputes have occurred between Israel and Palestine, yet the United Nations has been unsuccessful in implementing a resolution, similar to the situation in Kashmir.
Due to the failure of the United Nations, the world is once again witnessing a cloud of violence and bloodshed. In this horrific firestorm of fire and blood, both sides have suffered heavy human and financial losses.
In the recent tension between Hamas and Israel, it seems that the world is divided into two parts. Almost all countries, including the United States and NATO, stand with Israel, while in the Security Council meeting, aside from Russia and China, all other powers are still in favor of Israel.
As far as the Muslim world is concerned, apart from verbal condemnation, there hasn’t been any practical action yet. The Iranian President has declared his intention to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque while holding talks with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. In the current crisis, the pressure of their own people can be considered a natural factor for Gulf countries.
To feel the effects of the Israel-Palestine conflict, one can look at the example of the Ukraine-Russia conflict. After the attack on Ukraine, there was a significant increase in the prices of oil, gas, and food, as disruptions in the supply of commodities tend to drive up prices. In such circumstances, vulnerable or developing nations often bear the brunt.
At present, it appears that alignments against Iran are taking place. It is also reported that American citizens have been affected by attacks on Israel, which suggests that the U.S. reserves the right to take action, making it feel like there may be a maritime conflict near Israel’s shores, potentially further complicating the situation.
It is a fact that Iran has been preparing for war for several years, with a focus on land, sea, and air forces capable of combatting a variety of conditions. However, the involvement of Israel in the Iran conflict, the formation of alliances like the Strong of Pearls and the China Containment, will have far-reaching effects in this crisis.
There is a high possibility of significant bloodshed in the Israel-Palestine conflict as Israel possesses dangerous weapons and is receiving additional support. It appears that this time, Israel intends to change Palestine into a scapegoat for retaliation.
Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations has referred to this conflict as the Nineteenth, making it difficult for Israel’s intentions to be discerned. American naval assets have reached near Israel. It is also noteworthy that President Biden has hinted at Iran, emphasizing that other countries should not assist in any way, or else they will face the consequences.
After the Israel-Palestine conflict, protests are rising in various countries, but the GCC countries have not shown clear condemnation or resistance. Looking at the situation, it appears that the GCC countries may still be inclined to save their stable relations with Israel and fan the flames of the fire.
In the escalating crisis in the region, the alignment of the U.S. and Israel against Iran can be extremely dangerous, and clouds of conflict are also looming over China. In this situation, China cannot isolate itself, as it is the desire of the U.S. to reduce China’s influence, and in the midst of this crisis, America can’t ignore China’s economic growth.
China has been busy with efforts to boost its economy, and China has always pursued a policy of avoiding conflicts. So the situation can become even more complicated. The closure of Iran’s trade routes will also negatively affect Pakistan, and regardless of whether China wants it or not, it may be forced to intervene, which will not resolve the issue but further complicate it.
The role of the Muslim Ummah has become extremely important at this time. Immediate actions are necessary for the OIC to address the issue, as if this issue escalates further, the entire world will be affected.
Pakistan has always maintained a clear stance on the struggles of the Kashmiris and Palestinians. However, direct involvement in the Israel-Palestine conflict may have serious consequences. After the Ukraine conflict, we faced difficulties in importing oil, wheat, and other goods, but if we take a clear position in the Israel-Palestine conflict, we may also be affected by its consequences.
