KARACHI: The match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators has been postponed after a player from the former side tested positive for the COVID-19.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the match would now be played at the same time, 7pm tomorrow. “This is being done to ensure players from both sides get time to prepare for the game,” it said. Moreover, the PCB said that the tickets for the match that have already been bought can be used to watch the match live tomorrow.
“The player had shown symptoms two days ago and had been immediately isolated. Members of his side have tested negative while the players of the other side are being tested,” the PCB said in the statement.
Taking to Twitter, Islamabad United revealed that player who tested positive was Australian leg-spinner, Fawad Ahmed. Sources have informed that both teams practiced together ahead of the match today.
