ISLAMABAD: The Police of federal capital territory formed a joint investigation team (JIT) on Saturday to investigate suicide blast that took place in I-10 area the other day.

According to details gathered by MM News, DIG Operations Sohai Zafar Chattah is reported to have issued a notification, showing the formation of 8-member JIT which is headed by the SSP Counter Terrorism Department, and comprises members including SP Industrial Area, SDPO Sabzi Manid, and officers of intelligence departments.
The suicide blast had taken place yesterday when policemen tried to intercept a taxi at a picket in I-10. One policeman Adeel Hasnain had embraced martyrdom on the spot while three other cops were injured. PIMS management, however, said a civilian had also attained martyrdom in the explosion.
A case of the suicide bombing was lodged at the Sabzi Mandi police station in the federal capital under various sections, including charges of terrorism and murder.

According to Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, six people, including four policemen, were injured in the incident, adding that the injured personnel were out of danger and being treated at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
Meanwhile, the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the suicide blast in the federal capital.
