Preparations are in full swing to restore the country’s economy by making Senator Ishaq Dar the finance minister once again, which according to Ishaq Dar’s supporters, was ruined first by the economic team of Imran Khan and then by the policies of the outgoing finance minister Miftah Ismail.
It is being said that Miftah Ismail could have met some of his demands from the IMF, but by accepting the demands of the International Monetary Fund, he has trapped the people in the storm of inflation, while Ishaq Dar has been living in exile in London since 2017. The return of which is being considered an important decision.
Undoubtedly, if one of the finance ministers of the country leaves and another becomes the finance minister in his place, this decision will be important for both the government and the opposition, while the PTI leaders say that in the past Ishaq Dar has been responsible for lower prices of essential commodities in the world market. He himself benefited but did not let the fruits reach the poor people.
However, regarding his priorities, Ishaq Dar says that my first priority is to get the country’s economy out of the current crisis and to stabilize the rupee, while the prices of everything including electricity, gas and food items in Pakistan have gone up. The government is facing severe criticism for its economic policies.
The federal government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif himself says that the government had to take tough economic decisions to get the bailout package from the IMF. Miftah Ismail was also announcing the end of inflation after some time, but the government has more confidence in Ishaq Dar’s economic capabilities than Miftah Ismail.
Perhaps this is the reason why it was decided to take back the portfolio of the Finance Minister from Miftah Ismail and give it to Ishaq Dar, while Ishaq Dar will not even face arrest on his return home. The court has already suspended the permanent arrest warrant of former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
On the other hand, opposition political parties of PML-N, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, are calling the return of Ishaq Dar and the clear signs of the end of the cases as a new era of corruption because the government has ended more than 50 corruption cases by making arbitrary amendments in the NAB Ordinance. Whose corruption was estimated in billions.
If analyzed impartially, the return of Ishaq Dar seems to pave the way for the return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who has also filed an application in this regard in court. There are many hopes for the country’s economy from Ishaq Dar, it is to be seen what measures Ishaq Dar takes for the improvement of the country’s economy by becoming the finance minister.
