ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has announced to provide relief to the masses in the coming month and not to impose petroleum levy in the coming days.

Talking on a TV show, Ishaq Dar said that the value of the Rupee was appreciating against US Dollar and will continue the pace in the future as well. His remarks came as The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has recorded massive gains during the past 12 sessions against the dollar.

Responding to a question, Dar said Miftah Ismail shouldn’t have given a statement before the public, and that “his position remained as my subordinate.”

Ishaq Dar said the conditions put forward by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would be met and that the government would try its best to conclude the IMF program. He said some quarters do not want relief to be passed on to the general public.

He said Pakistan was faced with stiff competition at the front of the international export market, and that the country had achieved a 12.7 growth rate by providing Rs.180 billion package to the exporters.
