ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Economic Affairs Minister Ayaz Sadiq have canceled their visit to Washington.
According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, Ishaq Dar and Ayaz Sadiq were to attend the IMF and World Bank meetings in Washington. However, the tour has been canceled due to the tense political situation in the country.

Sources said that during this visit, Ishaq Dar was supposed to have a sideline meeting with IMF officials and senior officials of the US Treasury Department. Apart from this, matters are to be discussed in the sideline meeting to remove obstacles in the way of staff-level agreement with the IMF.
Sources said that now Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Finance Tariq Bajwa, Secretary of Finance, and other members of the economic team will represent Pakistan in IMF and World Bank meetings.
