Isha Ambani made a striking appearance at the Met Gala 2026, wearing a custom couture ensemble by Gaurav Gupta for the first time. The event, formally known as the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, was held in New York on May 4.
Her look blended traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary couture, featuring a jeweler-integrated blouse adorned with over 1,000 diamonds and precious stones totaling more than 1,800 carats.

The piece included heirloom jewellery from Nita Ambani’s personal collection, incorporating rare emeralds, polki and kundan work. Crafted by 40 artisans, the blouse used intricate techniques such as zardozi, dabka and nakshi, taking over 500 hours to complete.

A historic Mughal-era sarpech, once part of the Nizams of Hyderabad collection, adorned the back of the blouse, adding a regal touch. The outfit was paired with a gold-woven tissue saree created by artisans from the Swadesh collective.
Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the ensemble celebrated over 5,000 years of Indian textile and jewellery heritage, combining tradition with modern design.
