Looks like Ali Zafar and controversies go hand in hand as another debate surrounded the anthem for the upcoming PSL which was scheduled to be sung by the singer.
However, PCB separated Zafar from the project after giving him formal approval two months ago. About two months ago, the PCB hired Ali Zafar for singing the PSL-9 edition which is set to kick off on February 17, 2024.
Now. after months of hiring him, the PCB has reportedly given in to the pressure from one of the PSL franchises which were of the view that Zafar had become ‘controversial’ for his litigation with his fellow singer Meesha Shafi in the past, therefore, the anthem him would not go down well with the public and the image of the PSL.
The reservations were strongly expressed despite the high court verdict in favor of Zafar dismissing Shafi’s case against him. Zafar’s defamation case against Meesha is still pending in the court.Â
