KARACHI: Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Chairman of the Central Sighting of the Crescent Committee, has predicted that Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan is likely to be held on Wednesday, April 10.
Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad predicted that scientific observations have shown that the moon of Shawwal is likely to be seen on the 29th of Ramadan this year.
Azad, while talking about the former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, said, “We had told the Federal Minister that the Royat Hilal Committee recognizes the scientific results.”
He said that the final decision regarding the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr would be made based on Islamic principles and testimonies.
It should be noted that in 2024, Ramadan of Pakistanis might be 29 days and if the moon is visible on April 9, then Eid-ul-Fitr might be celebrated on April 10, as per Azad.
Many countries in the Middle East, Europe, and other parts of the world, including Pakistan, have also announced to celebrate the first day of Ramadan on March 12.
Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, and Oman announced the start of the holy month on March 12 because the moon was not visible on Sunday evening.
