Israel has launched a devastating attack on Gaza with advanced American weapons, while on the other hand, Hamas’ armed wing has stunned the world by releasing a video showing the destruction of an Israeli tank with a Chinese-made missile. Following the release of this video, questions are circulating about where Hamas fighters are obtaining Chinese weapons.
According to a report released today, the Al-Qassam Brigades targeted an Israeli tank in southern Gaza’s Rafah Strip using a Chinese-made “Red Arrow” guided missile. The use of the Chinese-guided missile “Red Arrow” was employed to target Israeli military vehicles, as reported by the Palestinian Chronicle.
The “Red Arrow” is a second-generation anti-tank missile equipped with a wire-guided optical guidance system. It can target objects up to 3 to 4 kilometers away and has been a significant part of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s arsenal since the late 1980s. Weighing 25 kilograms, this missile can be launched from the ground, armored vehicles, or helicopters.
A report by Sputnik in 2021 shed light on the fact that the Chinese military industry has developed several third-generation portable anti-tank missile systems as alternatives to the American FGM-148 Javelin.
Military expert Colonel Hatem al-Falhi told Al Jazeera that the recently introduced “Red Arrow” missile has gained prominence in the resistance movement, capable of targeting vehicles and armored units from distances of up to 4 kilometers. According to al-Falhi, this operation contradicts claims by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of an imminent victory over Al-Qassam Brigades.
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, as of October 7th, Israeli genocide has resulted in 37,626 Palestinian martyrs and 86,098 injured in Gaza.
